Empowering Ukraine's Energy Future

Strategic Investments and Sustainable Growth from Wyoming

Who we are

Bighorn Basin Energy Development Company LLC is a newly established U.S. private equity fund with a focus on investing in energy projects within Ukraine. The fund’s mission is to help Ukraine unlock its energy potential while generating a lasting, positive investment impact in the region.

Why We Invest

Due to the disruption in Ukraine’s energy sector caused by Russia’s war, there is an urgent need for additional electricity supply and a more decentralized power generation system. Prior to the invasion, Ukraine had approximately 55 gigawatts (GW) of power generation capacity, but it is estimated that over half of this has been destroyed or is under occupation. As a result, the remaining capacity is insufficient to meet the country’s electricity demands.

Our Strategy

Based in Wyoming (USA), Bighorn Basin Energy leverages American technology and expertise to implement a unique investment strategy aimed at delivering returns that exceed market expectations while strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience.

Our projects

892 MW in CHP and Solar: Scaling Ukraine's Energy with 100+ New Units

Installation over 100 combined heat and power (CHP) cogeneration units and solar power plants (SPP) with a total capacity of 892 MW across various regions in Ukraine. The generated electricity will be sold at market prices through the Ukrainian Energy Exchange. Currently, 3.5 MW of solar and 4 MW of CHP capacity are operational, with plans to add 67 MW of CHP by the end of 2024 and 49 MW of solar by mid-2025.

Distributing these plants across multiple regions helps reduce the risk of localized disruptions and improves grid distribution logistics.
